Christmas day in the morning

Last thing anyone wants to do is work on Christmas Day, me especially. Then again . . . defence of the realm and everything.

I was feeling sorry for myself, stuck out here in the cold in front of this big bloody portcullis. Whoever it was invented the wind tunnel was standing in front of Edinburgh Castle when he got the idea, I’ll bet, and all I had for shelter was my wee guard box and I wasn’t even allowed to stand inside it.
